Logging workouts
Effort tracking
Simple, RPE, or RIR. Pick the scale you think in.
How hard a set felt matters as much as what it weighed. Trainlike lets you log effort in whichever scale you actually think in, set in Settings → Effort Tracking:
- Simple (Emoji): three honest answers. 🙂 Easy, 💪🏻 Challenging, 🔥 All Out.
- RPE: the classic 6 to 10 scale, half points from 7.5 up, described in plain words (“Could do 2 more reps”).
- RIR: reps in reserve. How many more you had, 0 to 4+.
- Off: skip it entirely.
Logging it
With effort tracking on, every set row has an effort column, and tabbing past the reps field offers it on its own. Tag the sets that matter; you do not have to rate every one. In Focus Mode, effort sits right on the set card, with a catch-up prompt during rest if you skipped it.
One language underneath
All three modes store the same thing under the hood, so you can switch modes any time and your history simply re-renders in the new scale. Nothing is lost, nothing needs re-logging.
Why bother
Effort is one of the four dimensions your workout grade reads. Two identical workouts on paper can be a cruise and a war; effort logging is how Trainlike tells them apart.
