Routines and programs

Build a routine

Pick exercises, set your schemes and targets, save it.

A routine is a workout you intend to repeat: exercises in order, with the set and rep structure you want to run. Building one takes a couple of minutes.

Build it

  1. On the Train tab, tap Create routine.
  2. Name it.
  3. Add exercises from the library: search, filter by muscle or equipment, and select as many as you want in one pass.
  4. For each exercise, set the sets and reps: per-set numbers, or switch to a range like 8-12 with the preset chips. Set its rest timer, and add a note from the exercise’s … menu if it needs instructions. Pair exercises into supersets, and use Reorder Exercises from the same menu to change the order.
  5. Save. It appears on the Train tab, ready to start.

Three shortcuts

Starting from a blank page is optional. You can scan a workout from an image, or have a routine generated from your equipment, time, and focus. Both land in this same editor for you to adjust. And a workout you improvised is a routine waiting to happen: the finish screen offers to save it.

Editing later

A routine row’s menu has Edit Routine, Delete Routine, Duplicate Routine, Share Routine, and Move to Program… (plus Remove from its program, when it is in one). Your history keeps what you actually did, so editing a routine never rewrites the past.

Whose numbers?

Leave weights blank and Trainlike’s progression fills them each workout. Write your own weights in and the app respects them: authored numbers are yours, and the engine stays out of the way.
